Q: How do I make my own picture show up on my comments?

iamhfa.com uses the gravatar service for avatar customization.  To sign up, go to http://en.gravatar.com/site/signup and provide your email address.  Note that you should use the same email address for gravatar that you use on the iamhfa site.  Once you have a gravatar account and have set up an image to use with gravatar, it will automatically appear on iamhfa.com with your comments.

Q: How do I change the way my name appears when I leave a comment?

While logged in to the site, go to the My HFA – Site Admin link.  This will take you to your user profile.  Under the “Name” heading, make sure your information is correct.  The “Display name publicly as” option will let you choose how your name appears on your comments.

Q: On the registration and login pages, you have a link to let me use facebook/myspace/twitter/etc. to log in.  Will may information be safe if I give it to you?

These login options are done through an OpenID protocol.  What this means is that your username and password are directly authenticated by the service of your choice, and that service sends only the needed authentication information back to iamhfa.  Your usernames and password are never seen by the iamhfa.com servers, so your information remains secure.
